Busy, busy, busy

The last several weeks have been super busy preparing the house for our new arrival so, I have been slacking a little on keeping everyone updated. Jason re-modeled our bathroom and took out our fireplace replacing it with a coat closet and pantry. He did an incredible job despite all his grumbling and swearing he will never do another bathroom or drywall again. Last weekend while Riley and I occupied ourselves in the yard, Jason, Karen, Ally and Jamie painted the living room in preparation for our new carpet by. (Thank you guys soooo much!) It looks beautiful and the carpet went in on Tuesday.

Amongst all the house renovations, I have been in daycare hell! For several months now, Riley has been having behavior issues at his daycare. It finally got to the point that we decided to send him back to an in-home daycare rather than a center. Everyday he had bad reports and phone calls home. I finally had it when he was sent home for telling the other kids that there were monsters and scaring them. Come'on... he is 3! Anyway, Jason went in that day to pay his tuition and ended up having it out with his teacher and putting in his 2 weeks. Tuesday morning I got a letter from them saying that due to the conversation with Jason and the language used, they were giving us Riley's 2 weeks. Of course I called Jason right away and his story was different from theirs. When I got to work, I immediately sent an email to the school appoligizing for Jason's behavior but also making the point that we were unhappy. The response I got once again told a different story and at then end reflected that Riley was such a disruption to the whole school and it was not fair to everyone there. I know he is not perfect but, he is not that out of control. And, they are a daycare. Is it not their job to deal with such issues and keep the kids happy? Anyway, I decided not to keep him in any longer and pulled him immediately. The week before I had interviewed a nice in-home and so, we called her and set him up to start there the following week. He is now on week 2 and doing awesome. Miss Michele, his new provider, has had no issues with him and says she does not understand why they had so many problems at his old school. I guess he is not the "devil child" they made him out to be after all!
