surgery...

Last Thursday was the day for Jason's big surgery. No worries, it was just a routine, there was no fire involved and this one was planned. For years, he has suffered from chronic sinus infections and sore throats. When they did a cat-scan of his nose they found that he had a deviated septum and there was a spur that was possibly causing his daily headaches so he finally convinced his doctor to take out his tonsils and fix his nose. Everything went well but he is MISERABLE! On top of the pain from the surgery, he can't smoke (and actually decided now would be a good time to quit) so, he is not much fun to live with. Although Riley doesn't fully understand, he knows daddy had surgery and that he is sick so he has been a big help bringing Jason his ice pack and yogurt. There have been the occasional times however, when he innocently hit his nose and Jason screamed in pain. 2 or 3 times it was simply trying to give him a kiss and the other time he threw a ball right at Jason's nose. Luckily it was a small ball and Riley does not throw very hard but it still left him in a lot of pain.
